An early pioneer of CCM music, Keith Green's soulful vocals and in-your-face lyrics launched his rise to fame in the late 70’s. Keith captivated listeners with explosive piano playing and fiery recordings that spoke of uncompromising faith and called out Christian hypocrisy in the Church. His music urged Christians to “walk the walk” of Jesus, not just “talk the talk,” and to live a life of love in service to others. Known for his unorthodox approach to the music industry, Keith’s dislike for the commercial tenancies within the church led him to grant free admission to his concerts, donate a large portion of his record sales to charity, and eventually to start his is own record label that distributed albums on a pay-what-you-can-afford basis. Keith’s brief but legendary career was tragically cut short by a plane crash that took his life at just 28 years old. Keith Green, together with his wife Melody Green, wrote an expansive catalogue of songs that captured the hearts of a generation of Christians.
